What You'll Do
We are seeking PHP coding specialists who are deeply familiar with algorithms, data structures, software architecture, backend development, cloud infrastructure, and modern PHP application design. Fluency in PHP is paramount. You will challenge advanced language models on complex topics such as object-oriented design, RESTful API development and integration, secure coding practices, PHP runtime behavior and memory usage in long-running processes, asynchronous patterns using queues, workers, or event-driven libraries, and debugging distributed systems. A critical part of your role will be documenting every failure mode to harden model reasoning.
On a typical day, you will:
- Converse with the AI model on software engineering tasks and technical scenarios using PHP.
- Verify the logical accuracy and coding fluency of the model's responses.
- Assess code quality and clarity provided by the model.
- Capture reproducible error traces to diagnose model deficiencies.
- Suggest improvements to our prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
Who You Are
Ideal candidates possess a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related technical field. Real-world PHP experience, a background in technical writing, or significant open-source contributions are strong indicators of a good fit. Clear, metacognitive communication—the ability to "show your work" and explain your reasoning—is essential for this role.

Compensation and Work Arrangement
This is a contract position with a pay range of $6 to $65 per hour. The exact rate will be determined after evaluating your experience, expertise, and geographic location. Final offer amounts may vary from the pay range listed above. As a contractor, you will be responsible for supplying a secure computer and high-speed internet. Company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and PTO do not apply.
