Role Overview

As Mercury’s first Chief Audit Officer, you will establish and lead an independent assurance program. You will serve as a strategic partner to the Board and Audit Committee, providing an objective, enterprise-wide view of our financial, operational, and technical resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the audit vision with a risk-based internal audit strategy.
• Provide independent evaluations on risk management and controls.
• Audit technical and operational aspects of business and cloud systems.
• Validate product workflows and financial controls to maintain integrity.
• Bridge regulatory gaps and serve as liaison with partner banks and regulators.
• Design continuous, data-driven monitoring systems to automate oversight.
• Drive remediation in collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Risk teams.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven leadership in scaling internal audit functions within high-growth financial services.
• Technical fluency in cloud-native, remote-first environments and API integrity.
• Experience navigating regulatory landscapes and engaging directly with regulators.
• Strong communication skills to simplify risk concepts across various teams.
• An ability to balance protection with innovation and drive meaningful change.
