About the role
Marketing Data Analyst Intern
Mercury Ignite. Your launchpad to a brighter career. Our summer internship program is a 12-week paid internship designed to allow students to gain practical work experience in the Insurance field. This internship gives hands‑on exposure to marketing analytics, including campaign measurement, attribution, segmentation, and experimentation. Interns partner with Marketing, Customer Experience, Product, and Sales to deliver insights that improve acquisition, engagement, and retention. The program includes structured mentorship, cross‑functional meetings, and a final capstone presentation to leaders. The program will be highly collaborative and immersive, with interns working on real business problems that can span multiple business units within the complex insurance landscape. But it won’t be all work! Mercury executives will host virtual lunch-and-learns with a small group of interns to discuss career aspirations, interns will get to meet Mercury people leaders and team members throughout the organization, and there will be a multitude of virtual social events.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
- Analyze campaign and channel performance (paid media, owned channels, web) to quantify ROI and surface optimizations.
- Build dashboards and reporting to track KPIs (e.g., funnel conversion, CAC, LTV proxies, engagement metrics).
- Support audience segmentation and propensity analyses to improve targeting and personalization.
- Design and evaluate A/B and multivariate tests; track results and translate findings into recommendations.
- Perform data hygiene and quality checks; document data definitions and analytical methods.
- Synthesize insights in clear narratives with visuals for marketing stakeholders.
- Present a capstone summarizing findings, impact, and proposed next steps.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Business Analytics, or related field.
- Able to provide current GPA, as reported by your school. Minimum 3.0 GPA required, 3.5 or higher preferred.
- Ability to work 40 hours a week, 12-week internship, beginning June 2026.
- Enrolled student attending a university program with an expected graduation date on or after August 2025.
- Planning to seek full-time employment between December 2026 and September 2027.
Preferred Experience
- Coursework in statistics, experimental design, and data visualization.
- Prior internship/project experience in marketing analytics, growth, or BI.
Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Excel/Sheets proficiency; experience with SQL; familiarity with visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau); understanding of A/B testing fundamentals; strong communication and problem solving.
- Exposure to web/app analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics), and/or experience with site visit data; familiarity with marketing platforms (e.g., ad platforms, marketing automation).
