Overview

This role offers 8 weeks of paid training starting 12/1 and a fixed schedule of 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:45pm PST) after training. This is a work-from-home position requiring a dedicated, distraction-free workspace.

Responsibilities

If you’re passionate about helping people restore their lives when the unexpected happens, the Claims Specialist II role at Mercury Insurance is for you. Key responsibilities include:

  • Customer Interaction and Claims Process Management: Explain coverage details, set reserves, arrange inspections, and manage rental authorizations.
  • Investigation and Evidence Gathering: Use various communication methods to obtain information, review law enforcement reports, and gather evidence.
  • Risk Assessment and File Management: Identify high-risk files and escalate suspected fraud cases.
  • Bodily Injury Claims Management: Analyze medical records, negotiate, and settle moderate claims.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate with various internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with team members to address shared customer needs.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), 6 months’ customer service experience in a high-volume environment, and 6-12 months’ claims adjusting experience (preferred). Prior remote work experience is a plus.

Skills & Abilities

Key skills include strong written and verbal communication, active listening, decision-making, analytical thinking, multitasking, organization, and exceptional customer service. Proficiency in MS Office and various computer systems is required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to maintain a sedentary position for extended periods, communicate electronically, and occasionally perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching.

Compensation

Hourly rates vary by geographic location: $29.33, $26.92, or $24.52 per hour. Annual salary range is USD $43,382.00 - USD $75,982.00.
