Position Overview: Writing and Editing Specialist
This is a full-time role with competitive compensation ranging from $90,000 to $200,000 per year. The role can be based in Palo Alto, CA or remote.
Role Responsibilities
- Label, annotate, and evaluate AI-generated text for clarity, flow, and engagement.
- Critique and enhance writing quality across diverse genres focusing on structure, tone, and coherence.
- Collaborate with technical teams to design and refine annotation frameworks.
- Ensure editorial accuracy by maintaining consistency in grammar, phrasing, and style.
- Provide feedback to improve annotation tools, processes, and writing systems.
- Apply expert judgment to ensure text meets creative and professional standards.
Qualifications
Must-Have: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Linguistics or related field; published portfolio of works; demonstrated ability to refine text for readability, logic, and style; exceptional attention to detail; strong communication skills and familiarity with editorial standards.
Preferred: Advanced experience in professional writing/editing; previous roles in editorial, content strategy, or creative communications; familiarity with digital editing tools and structured review processes.
Compensation & Legal
Salary ranges from $90,000 to $200,000 annually depending on experience and location. Benefits packages vary by country.
