About the Role
Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. Headquartered in San Francisco, our investors include Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.
This is a Contract position for a Visual Designer.
Compensation for this role is $75–$90/hour.
This role is fully Remote.
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers to deliver high-quality iconography and visual assets.
- Support the creation and maintenance of icon libraries across multiple sizes and themes.
- Develop pixel-perfect, grid-aligned icons reflecting brand identity and system guidelines.
- Extend and document icon standards and usage rules with design leads.
- Translate product needs into visually compelling and engaging designs.
- Manage and incorporate feedback to elevate design quality.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 4+ years of professional experience in graphic/visual design across web, desktop, and mobile.
- Proven experience designing and implementing icon systems at scale.
- Expert-level proficiency with Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other tools.
- Strong understanding of vector construction, grid systems, and accessibility considerations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred
- Experience contributing to a design system.
- Understanding of design-to-dev handoff practices and QA.
- Familiarity with 3D design and motion/animation.
