Role Overview
Position: Technical Writer - Documentation Specialist (Contract, Remote) Commitment: 10–25 hours/week Duration: Short to mid-term
Collaborate on content-focused projects with Fortune 500 companies and unicorn startups. Support AI systems by generating and validating high-quality technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Review and refine AI-generated technical content for clarity, accuracy, and structure.
- Author new documentation across technical domains including product specs, API guides, and internal wikis.
- Validate content against real-world standards and enterprise documentation styles.
- Provide feedback on AI output to improve relevance and consistency.
- Collaborate asynchronously with research and platform teams as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience writing or editing technical documentation.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical topics into accessible language.
- Familiarity with structured documentation tools like Markdown, Git, and Confluence.
- Detail-oriented with strong editorial judgment and domain fluency.
Preferred Qualifications: Background in engineering, product, or technical program management.
Engagement Details
Remote and asynchronous – set your own hours. Independent contractor classification with payments processed weekly via Stripe Connect.
