Sociology Expert at Mercor

Role Responsibilities
- Author technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance on sociology problems.
- Review and annotate tasks involving demographic charts, social network diagrams, and survey output.
- Produce original problem sets grounded in sociology concepts.
- Write reference solutions and apply structured quality checks.
- Work independently and asynchronously with a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- PhD in Sociology, MA in Sociology with 3+ years research, policy, or teaching experience, or BA in Sociology with 5+ years applied research, policy, or teaching experience.
- Working fluency in at least two of: social theory, stratification, demography, qualitative methods, quantitative methods.
- Comfortable with demographic charts, social network diagrams, and survey output.
- Clear technical writing; able to articulate reasoning step-by-step in written form.
