Role Overview

Position: AI Task Designer – Contractor. Work up to 40 hours per week with a minimum engagement of 6 weeks. Enhance large-language-model performance by creating and evaluating challenging tasks for AI models.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Mercor coordinators and client research leads to develop innovative AI tasks.
• Design creative and realistic tasks for AI models ensuring they are challenging and comprehensive.
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, and comprehensiveness.
• Write gold-standard solutions with clear feedback to improve outputs.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications: Experience as a technical writer, editor or research analyst; proven experience creating Q&A, summaries, or problem-solving tasks; strong fact-checking and editing skills; excellent written communication with high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in reading-comprehension, curriculum design, assessment authorship or instructional design.

Engagement Details

• Hourly contractor position for Mercor.
• Paid weekly via Stripe Connect.
• Remote work with a flexible, asynchronous schedule.
• Rolling start dates with work trials shortly after application.
• Applicants must be from the U.S., UK, Canada, or Australia.
