Position Overview
The Senior Materials Engineer will serve as an AI Tutor – Materials Science Specialist. This role involves using proprietary tools to label, annotate, and evaluate materials science–related data to create high quality datasets for advanced AI training.
Role Responsibilities
- Utilize proprietary tools for data labeling and annotation.
- Create high-quality datasets for AI learning.
- Collaborate with technical teams to refine annotation workflows.
- Analyze materials science data to enhance model performance.
- Interpret evolving instructions and deliver consistent results.
Qualifications
Must-Have: A Master’s degree or PhD in materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering or a related field; deep expertise in semiconductor, energy materials, nanomaterials, alloys, ceramics, biomaterials, or polymers; excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Preferred: Research publications, patents, or teaching/tutoring experience; prior work in AI data annotation or technical writing; experience mentoring in scientific research.
Compensation & Schedule
Competitive pay ranging from $90,000 to $200,000 annually. This full-time position is available in-office in Palo Alto, CA or remote, with initial training from 9:00am–5:30pm PST.
