Role Overview

Position: AI Task Designer – Contractor, RemoteUp to 40 hours per week, minimum 6 weeks durationEnhance large-language-model performance by creating and evaluating challenging tasks for AI models

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Mercor coordinators and client research leads to develop innovative AI tasks
• Design creative and realistic tasks for AI models ensuring they are challenging and comprehensive
• Evaluate AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, and comprehensiveness across various domains
• Write gold-standard solutions to tasks, providing clear and concise feedback to improve AI model outputs
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement of AI model performance

Requirements / Qualifications

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Experience in roles such as technical writers, editors, research analysts, or similar
• Demonstrable experience creating Q&A, summaries, or problem-solving tasks for long-form content
• Strong fact-checking and editing skills to validate and polish AI-generated answers
• Ability to apply analytical judgment to spot inconsistencies in draft outputs
• Excellent written communication skills with high attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in reading-comprehension or curriculum design
• Background in assessment authorship or instructional design

Engagement Details

• Hourly contractor for Mercor
• Paid weekly via Stripe Connect
• Remote work with flexible, asynchronous schedule
• Start dates are rolling, with work trials sent out within days of application
• Applicants must be from the U.S., UK, Canada, or Australia
