Role Overview

Position: Economics Expert – Independent Contractor, Remote Commitment: Part-time, ~20 hours/week (potential to extend to 40 hours/week) Duration: 1–2 months

Join an exciting collaboration with a top AI research lab to contribute to developing and evaluating advanced AI systems in economics.

Responsibilities

  • Create and assess complex problems in economics across subdomains such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, game theory, econometrics, and behavioral economics.
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses for conceptual accuracy, logical consistency, and domain relevance.
  • Provide clear written feedback on economics problem sets and solutions.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and engineers to iterate and improve model performance.
  • Ensure academic rigor and precision in all economics content used to train or evaluate AI systems.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must-Have: PhD in Economics from a top university, 2+ years of academic or work experience, deep subject-matter expertise in economics, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

Preferred: Prior teaching, research, or publication experience is a plus.

Engagement Details

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience ($70–$90 USD/hr)
  • Independent contractor
  • Fully remote and asynchronous – flexible working hours
  • Daily payment via Stripe Connect
