Position: Cybersecurity and Low-Level Programming Expert
Mercor is seeking a Cybersecurity and Low-Level Programming Expert for a contract role focused on analyzing security vulnerabilities in AI contexts. This is a fully remote position requiring 20+ hours per week for approximately 2 months, with flexible hours.
Role Responsibilities
- Analyze and review content for security vulnerabilities, focusing on pattern recognition and classification in AI.
- Apply systems programming and security expertise to enhance AI model threat detection.
- Collaborate asynchronously with a team of qualified experts.
- Craft, solve, and review challenging real-world problems.
- Work independently with flexible hours to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 2+ years of experience in programming with low-level languages (C, C++, Java).
- Familiarity with security vulnerability classification frameworks (OWASP, CVEs).
- Understanding of core cybersecurity concepts (web security, common attack vectors).
- Strong attention to detail and pattern recognition skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English.
- Currently based in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand.
- Ability to pass an enhanced background check.
Start Date
Mid-April; exact dates will be confirmed closer to the start date.
Interview Process
The interview process includes a short interview and questionnaire to assess domain expertise. Successful candidates will be paid for up to 1 hour of onboarding time, including screening and onboarding videos.
Compensation & Legal
This is an hourly contractor position, paid weekly via Stripe Connect. Compensation is $80–$120/hour.
