About The Role of an Engineering Professional at Mercor

This is a contract position for an Engineering Professional, offering compensation between $30–$80/hour with a commitment of 10+ hours per week.
Role Responsibilities
- Create detailed prompts grounded in engineering scenarios such as system design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, clarity, and alignment with engineering principles.
- Draft high-quality reference solutions and rationales for technical decisions.
- Identify logical gaps, errors, or unrealistic assumptions in AI outputs.
- Collaborate asynchronously with other technical experts and reviewers using shared documentation and structured feedback.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, software, or a related engineering field.
- 3+ years of experience in engineering practice, R&D, or technical consulting.
- Strong understanding of engineering methodologies, tools, and applied problem-solving.
- Excellent technical writing and structured reasoning skills.
- Comfort reviewing model outputs across a range of engineering domains.
