About the Role

Mercor Intelligence is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a collaboration with a top AI research lab. In this role, you will contribute to developing and evaluating advanced AI systems that replicate real-world workflows across mechanical engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and assess complex problems in mechanical engineering.
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical rigor and domain relevance.
  • Provide clear written feedback on engineering problem sets and solutions.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers to improve model performance.
  • Ensure technical accuracy in all engineering content for AI training and evaluation.

Ideal Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and analytical thinking.

Project Timeline & Work Details

  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Duration: 1–2 months
  • Commitment: Part-time (~20 hours/week, potential extension to 40 hours/week)
  • Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous – flexible working hours

Compensation & Application Process

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience ($65-$80 USD/hr)
