About the role

Product Content Development & Optimization Analyst

Merck Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Analyst to join their team. This role focuses on creating and optimizing the web presence of the Process Solutions portfolio by generating high-quality product content and structured product data for both new and existing products. The goal is to ensure content is accurate, channel-ready, and optimized for discovery (SEO/AI search) and customer decision-making. You will partner with Product Management, Digital & e-Commerce, and Marketing/MarCom teams to improve data quality, customer experience, and commercial performance, leveraging AI-driven tools for scalability and automation.

Your Role

  • Ensure web product data readiness for New Product launches by collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish product requirements and timelines.
  • Manage product information using Product Information Management (PIM) systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all digital channels.
  • Audit and enhance product data quality, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain high standards in product representation.
  • Extract and consolidate relevant product data/content from internal sources and translate it into digital-ready product narratives and structured attributes.
  • Curate and maintain Product Detail Page (PDP) content that supports product discovery and customer decision-making, including scientific and marketing content.
  • Optimize product content for web performance, including SEO and AI-assisted search/discovery, and continuously improve findability and clarity.

Who You Are

  • Master’s degree in any Life Science Discipline (Biology, Chemistry, etc.).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in web product data management, e-commerce, digital content writing or a similar role.
  • Strong English writing skills with a proven track record of producing high-quality scientific and/or marketing content for a global audience / for web discovery optimization.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to deliver high throughput with consistency.
  • Proactive, high-ownership, and solution-oriented, with a bias for action and a track record of driving issues to resolution.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with the Life Science industry and customer base, curiosity about product positioning.
  • Familiarity with Product Information Management (PIM) systems and data quality management practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable handling and analyzing data and using tools like e.g. Foundry, Excel, PowerBI to spot issues and trends.
  • Overall understanding of the Marketing funnel and Customer journey.
  • Practical SEO understanding; adept at diving deep into search including algorithms and technical details.
  • Experience with digital marketing/SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Google Analytics).
  • Experience in creating and utilizing AI tools for data analysis, generating and optimizing user-centric content and process automation.
