Overview
The PDMB Bioanalytics group at our West Point, PA site is dedicated to regulated pharmacokinetic, immunogenicity, and molecular assay development and validation. The Automation and Robotic Engineering Scientist role supports the development of small molecules, vaccines, and biotherapeutics through advanced robotic automation and LIMS solutions in a bioanalytical laboratory environment.
Position Summary
This position leads the design, development, and implementation of robotic automation work cells and data management systems that enhance sample tracking, data analysis, and regulatory compliance. The role primarily focuses on vaccine-related assays but may extend support to other bioanalytical modalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robotic automation work cells.
- Develop, validate and enhance LIMS and software modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for end-to-end sample tracking.
- Manage day-to-day operations including training and troubleshooting.
- Apply statistical and ML models to improve data management.
- Define data classification frameworks to ensure data integrity.
- Oversee computer system validations ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert during regulatory audits.
- Maintain departmental SOPs and work instructions.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a B.S. in Life Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology or related fields with 8+ years of experience, or advanced degrees with proportionate experience. Candidates must have experience with LIMS implementations, robotic automation in regulated labs, and computer system validations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with vaccine bioanalytical assays, programming for automated data workflows, statistical analysis, and knowledge of data standards such as CDISC.
