Change Communications Manager

Mercer is seeking a talented individual to join our Risk and Compliance team as a Change Communications Manager. This role is based in Melbourne or Sydney and operates on a hybrid model, requiring at least three days per week in the office.

About the Role

The Program Change Communications Manager is responsible for evolving and executing the change and communication strategy in support of Risk Transformation. Working within the Change Team, alongside the Program Hub and Program Director, you will develop strategies, tactics, key messages, and communication materials to drive necessary change. You will also be accountable for delivering key program communications, including showcases, town halls, milestone announcements, and leader talking points. This is a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute communication strategies and tactics to support program execution and the transformation of risk management and risk culture at Mercer.
  • Craft key messaging and materials to support the change effort, providing guidance and creative ideas to the team for maximum impact.
  • Actively participate in planning, designing, and sequencing activities with change colleagues to deliver a cohesive narrative and message sequence that supports the overarching change approach.
  • Provide oversight and review of program and change communications to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Manage and oversee a single view of communications to enable message bundling across multiple streams.
  • Deliver key messages to the business regarding risk transformation.
  • Manage key relationships with program colleagues, business stakeholders, and internal/external communications leads.

What You Need

  • At least 10 years of experience in communications, ideally within superannuation, wealth, or financial services.
  • Experience working in large, complex programs with challenging change agendas is ideal.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information and customize messaging for different audiences.
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and management.
  • A strong work ethic, proactive approach, and ability to handle conflicting priorities and ambiguity.
  • Experience managing sensitive information professionally and confidentially.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape and risk management is highly regarded.
