Job Summary
Mercer Advisors is seeking a Systems Administrator I to join our expanding Technology team. As a cloud-native organization, the ideal candidate will bring experience in monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting cloud-based systems, SaaS applications, and general networking support.
In this role, you will serve as the primary escalation point for our service desk while actively contributing to infrastructure, networking, automation, and migration initiatives. Your focus will be on administration, support, and operational execution, adhering to established standards and escalation paths.
Key technologies currently in use include Microsoft (Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Intune, Teams), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cloudflare, Proofpoint, Zoom, Box Drive, NinjaOne, Nerdio, Meraki, and Mist.
Essential Job Functions For This Role Include
Identity, Productivity, Cloud Infrastructure Platforms
- Support, assist, and monitor day-to-day operations for Microsoft 365 products including Office applications, Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Support Entra ID and AWS IAM management, encompassing user lifecycle, group management, and role-based access controls.
- Monitor and assist with cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments, including Route 53 management.
- Support and assist with single sign-on integrations and SaaS registrations.
- Manage and assist with the day-to-day operations and administration of the organization’s file storage solutions.
- Manage and assist with the day-to-day operations and administration of the organization’s unified communication platforms.
Zero Trust Access & Network Security
- Support and assist with administration and day-to-day operations of the organization's zero trust platform.
- Assist with maintaining secure egress IP configurations for SaaS and third-party integrations.
- Monitor and assist with day-to-day operations and administration of the organization’s email security platform.
Office Networking Infrastructure
- Configure, deploy, administer, and maintain office network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, connectivity problems, and outages.
- Coordinate and assist with network documentation, modifications, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Endpoint & Device Management
- Assist with the administration and day-to-day operation and management of endpoint management platforms, including patch management and application deployment.
- Support Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices throughout their lifecycle, including enrollment and decommissioning.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to support endpoint security initiatives and audits.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical support, service desk, or similar IT role.
- Strong technical aptitude with proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Self-motivated, proactive, with a strong interest in technology and continuous learning.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based service management practices.
- Demonstrated security-first mindset, with an understanding of security best practices.
