Vehicle Compliance and Analysis Overview and Responsibilities

Vehicle Compliance and Analysis (VCA) manages vehicle compliance across the Mercedes-Benz USA portfolio of cars and light trucks. This includes governmental compliance reporting, emissions and safety certification, quality campaigns, VPC actions, and product analysis activities.

Responsibilities of the Vehicle Compliance & Analysis Intern

  • Support the VCA Safety and Emissions teams in developing, managing, and executing governmental reporting requirements for timely submission to NHTSA, EPA, and CARB.
  • Assist the Safety team with Transportation Recall Enhancement, Accountability, and Documentation (TREAD) Act, ad-hoc reports, and campaign launch activities.
  • Help coordinate, create, and disseminate Recall and Service campaigns to affected parties and manage outreach activities.
  • Assist the Emissions team with data collection and analysis to support compliance and reporting.
  • Assess and analyze large volumes of data to help management streamline processes and procedures.
  • Create training and presentation materials to effectively communicate ad-hoc topics to management for safety and emissions.
  • Perform vehicle testing and assist with work instruction review and updates before campaign release.
  • Utilize data to analyze complex scenarios for campaign launch activities and create dashboards for field use.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate students, specifically rising juniors and seniors.
  • Available from March 2026 - March 2027.
  • Hybrid in-person schedule: 3 days weekly, up to 28 hours maximum.
  • Available during core working hours of 10 AM - 3 PM Eastern.

Preferred Skillset:

  • Strong Excel skills for data preparation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with Power Automate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Preferred Data Analytics and Engineering background.
