Role Overview
The Patient Support Nurse facilitates a successful patient journey by providing care coordination, education, psychosocial support, medication and disease state education, and clinical feedback to enhance patient support programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide education and support to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers via telephonic or virtual settings.
- Maintain accurate records and navigate patient account data in a digital CRM.
- Counsel on product use, dosing, insurance coverage, and reimbursement challenges.
- Coordinate program resources, secure financial options, and escalate complex cases per guidelines.
- Report adverse events and participate in training and orientation sessions.
- Serve as an advocate regarding insurance, medical billing, and access to therapy.
- Participate in a shared on-call, after hours nurse service across multiple programs.
Qualifications
- AD or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN, RN) with a valid license.
- Minimum four years of nursing experience; telephonic experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical insurance terminology and reimbursement processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft products and digital CRM systems.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and empathetic listening skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Shift Details
The shift for this role is 8AM-5PM EST, Monday to Friday.
