Overview

The Backend Software Engineer - Tooling at Mercado Libre will contribute to the development and evolution of tools that support our engineering platform. You will support the maintenance and evolution of internal applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and Python pipelines, and will participate in PoCs and quick wins in artificial intelligence for automatic categorization and ticket resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain internal tools and applications.
  • Implement PoCs and quick wins using AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with various teams to integrate solutions and share knowledge.
  • Document processes, RFCs, and best practices on Confluence.
  • Participate in technical discussions, pair programming, and process improvements.
  • Measure tool effectiveness using usage metrics.

Technical Requirements

  • Experience in software development using Go, Java, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of web application architecture and API integration.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases and automated testing.
  • Interest in AI applied to support, including language models and automatic categorization.
