About the role
About The Role
Mento is seeking senior leaders in forward deployment or support engineering roles who are passionate about developing and coaching people. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience leading engineering teams in high-growth global tech organizations, AI/ML companies, or fast-scaling startups. Experience with infrastructure, platform, security, or ML/AI engineering organizations is highly relevant.
As a Mento coach, you will form 1:1 partnerships with members to help them achieve clear goals, enhance leadership skills, improve communication, problem-solve workplace issues, and foster happiness and fulfillment. All coaches must complete Mento's ICF-certified coach training program to master our methodology and gain access to proprietary tools.
Graduates of the ICF-certified training program will earn Continuing Coach Education Units. This is an opportunity to elevate coaching skills, deepen impact, and join a high-impact coaching team.
Your Routine Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing 1:1 coaching to Mento members through virtual sessions.
- Participating in ongoing training sessions to enhance coaching abilities.
- Communicating with members via Mento email or the Mento App between sessions.
- Being an integral part of the Mento coaching community by sharing insights and tools.
- Acting as an ambassador of the Mento community with kindness, respect, and empathy.
Who are you?
- A senior executive with 15+ years of experience managing teams and coaching individuals in forward deployment or support engineering.
- Proven team leadership experience, with coaching certifications being a plus.
- Experience balancing technical responsibilities with team management, including delegation and prioritization.
- Experience leading teams through hypergrowth, rapid organizational change, or startup-to-scale transitions, including hiring into ambiguity.
- Skilled in influencing and building credibility within customer organizations to help engineering leaders gain visibility and impact.
- A desire to transition people leadership skills into meaningful coaching skills, with a growth mindset towards learning.
- Passionate about helping individuals advance in their careers and build fulfilling lives.
- Self-aware with high emotional intelligence, skilled at creating safe spaces for vulnerability.
- Comfortable working in a constantly-changing startup environment.
- Able to dedicate a minimum of 12+ hours per month to coaching for at least 24 months.

Other Details
This is a contract position with an hourly rate and potential bonuses for engagement and community growth. Coaches must commit to a minimum of three to five hours per week and be available for at least 24 months. This is a fully remote position, open to candidates based in North America or Europe. This part-time opportunity is for experienced senior leaders looking to expand their coaching skills.
