Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center: Join the Adrienne Boire Lab as a Research Technician!
The Boire Lab is advancing critical research into leptomeningeal metastasis by uncovering how cancer cells invade and survive within the central nervous system. A new hire will play a meaningful role in driving discoveries that could lead to novel therapeutic strategies, directly impacting outcomes for patients facing advanced metastatic disease.
Role Overview
- Laboratory Support: Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
- Techniques & Assays: Perform specialized techniques, such as cell culture, qPCR, western blot, ELISA, CRISPR etc.
- Animal Handling: Conduct animal studies, including injections, tissue/fluid collection, and animal autopsies.
- Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
- Collaboration: Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biology/life sciences.
- Basic laboratory skills; experience with cell culture, western blotting, qPCR, ELISA, CRISPR or IH staining is a plus.
- Comfort working with mouse models is required for this role.
