At Memorial Hermann Health System, we deliver high quality, efficient care while creating exceptional experiences for our community. The Integrated Clinical Pharmacist for General Medicine and Oncology plays a crucial role in optimizing medication therapy and improving patient outcomes.

Job Summary

This position focuses on both General Medicine and Oncology service lines. Key responsibilities include participating in multidisciplinary rounds, collaborating with healthcare teams, precepting pharmacy students and residents, serving as a clinical resource on medication safety, and supervising pharmacy technical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with various healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize medication therapy.
  • Precept and mentor pharmacy students and residents.
  • Provide drug-related information and ensure medication safety.
  • Fill and label prescriptions, dispense controlled substances and manage inventory.
  • Supervise pharmacy technical staff.
  • Participate in Medication Use Evaluation and Process Improvement programs.
  • Document clinical interventions and report medication errors.
  • Assist in the drafting of policies and preparing I.V. solutions.

Qualifications

Applicants must be graduates of an accredited School of Pharmacy and licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Texas. A minimum of two years’ hospital experience is required, along with knowledge of unit dose medication and I.V. admixture processes. Pharmacy Sterile Product certification is also required.

Schedule

The schedule is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with alternating weekends.
