Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Logistics Manager to own end-to-end inbound and outbound shipping for client equipment across the U.S. and internationally. You will manage receiving, storage, packing, shipping, tracking, and returns—building reliable processes from the ground up in a fast-moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inbound Receiving & Processing
  • Receive client equipment, verify counts/condition, and log items accurately.
  • Coordinate deliveries with carriers and clients; resolve delivery exceptions.
  • Maintain organized storage, labeling, and inventory location controls.
Outbound Shipping (Domestic & International)
  • Prepare, pack, and ship equipment to client sites across the U.S. and globally.
  • Select carriers and shipping methods based on cost, speed, and reliability.
  • Create shipping labels, commercial invoices, packing lists, and required export documents.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping rules (customs, duties/taxes, restricted items).
Returns, Repairs, and Exchanges
  • Manage RMAs, reverse logistics, and equipment return workflows.
  • Coordinate with clients and vendors for repairs/replacements and reshipments.
Tracking, Communication, and Issue Resolution
  • Track shipments end-to-end and proactively communicate status updates.
  • Troubleshoot delays, lost/damaged shipments, and customs holds; file claims as needed.
  • Maintain clear SLAs and respond quickly when issues occur.
Inventory & Systems
  • Own inventory accuracy: counts, audits, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Implement and improve tools/processes (WMS, spreadsheets, shipping platforms).
  • Establish SOPs for packing standards, labeling, and documentation quality.
Vendor Management & Cost Control
  • Build relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs (if used).
  • Negotiate rates and monitor shipping spend; identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain carrier performance metrics and continuous improvement plans.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of logistics/shipping operations experience (startup experience is a plus).
  • Proven experience shipping equipment domestically and internationally.
  • Strong knowledge of carriers (UPS/FedEx/DHL/LTL/freight) and shipping workflows.
  • Familiarity with customs documentation and international shipping compliance.
  • Comfortable building processes from scratch; highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to lift/move packages and work in a receiving/shipping environment as needed.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace/Excel; experience with shipping software (e.g., ShipStation) is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing a small warehouse space or coordinating with a 3PL.
  • Experience with serialized inventory/equipment tracking.
  • APICS/CSCP certification or similar (not required).
