Job Description

About the Role

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is seeking a Processes & Compliance Technician for their Fundraising Department, based in Barcelona. This role is crucial for consolidating and analyzing information related to fundraising suppliers to ensure compliance with MSF's requirements and processes. You will provide visibility to management and area heads on supplier process status, identify non-compliance risks, and facilitate decision-making. This position also acts as a liaison between Fundraising suppliers and various MSF units like Procurement, Data Protection, Information Security, and Legal Counsel. You will also identify, document, and map interdepartmental processes within the Fundraising area, proposing improvements to reduce operational risks and ensure efficient, documented processes aligned with MSF Spain standards.

Role Environment

This position supports the Fundraising Department in managing its regulatory compliance obligations and continuously improving its internal processes. You will collaborate closely with Service Managers and the Compliance Focal Point to identify risks, enhance workflows, and ensure internal procedures are documented and aligned with MSF Spain policies. You will act as an intermediary with various organizational units, including Procurement, Data Protection, Information Security, Legal Counsel, and Finance, to gather information on supplier compliance progress or specific dossiers. This is a cross-functional role combining coordination, analysis, and process monitoring, contributing to stronger supplier management and reduced operational risks within the department.

Key Tasks and Functions

  • Act as a liaison with external suppliers and the Procurement, Data Protection (DPO), Information Security (InfoSec), and Legal Counsel units to obtain information on each supplier's compliance progress.
  • Coordinate and follow up on supplier validation, evaluation, and contracting processes within the department with the supplier owners, coordinating with the Compliance Focal Point (FR).
  • Ensure that current and new suppliers undergo the necessary processes to verify contractual, regulatory, and security requirements established by MSF Spain.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance Focal Point (FR), DPO, and InfoSec for the validation of tools, platforms, and processes containing data used by the department.
  • Identify and analyze compliance risks associated with suppliers.
  • Map, document, and update internal processes related to suppliers and regulatory compliance within the department.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements to optimize the department's operations.
  • Analyze processes related to other areas (such as finance, human resources, or other transversal units) that impact the department's activities.
  • Keep process documentation up-to-date and ensure its accessibility to facilitate knowledge management.

Specific Role Elements

  • A cross-functional position with high interaction with internal MSFOCBA units outside the Fundraising Department.
  • A role with a strong coordination and follow-up component, requiring analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously.
  • Direct contribution to the reduction of operational risks and the strengthening of the compliance culture within the department.

Selection Criteria

  • A degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related fields is valuable.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in roles related to process management, operational compliance, or supplier management, including tracking validations, requirements, or internal circuits.
  • Experience in mapping, documenting, and updating processes (procedures, workflows, validation circuits), with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to identify operational or compliance risks (not necessarily legal), propose improvements, and track their implementation.
  • Experience in fundraising, marketing, fundraising, CRM, or in humanitarian or non-profit organizations will be valued.
  • High level of Spanish and English (oral and written) is essential.

Conditions

  • Position based in Barcelona.
  • Full-time.
  • Duration: 9 months.
  • Annual gross salary: € 37,346.55 (HQ Level 3-A) + secondary benefits according to MSF OCBA Rewards Policy. Subject to local conditions.
  • Start date: Immediate incorporation.
