The Position

Mechanism Ventures is seeking a Paid Social Manager to own the paid social strategy, execution, and profitability across its portfolio of startups. This role focuses on driving measurable growth through Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and influencer programs, while developing scalable systems that accelerate the launch and growth of new ventures. The primary focus is on profitable growth through paid social, rather than brand awareness. From day one, you will immediately tackle a live Paid Social mission to drive positive ROI, then pivot to architecting the creative engines that launch companies from scratch, designing scalable blueprints for early-stage concepts.

Reporting directly to the VP of Growth, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in growth, creative, SEO, and lifecycle. This position is ideal for someone eager to blend strategy, execution, and innovation, particularly in using AI to pioneer next-generation paid social systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own paid social growth and profitability across multiple portfolio companies, serving as the go-to expert for all paid social matters.
  • Manage the end-to-end creative process for paid social, including strategy, brief development, and production, leading ongoing testing across portfolio companies.
  • Design and build a compounding, AI-powered creative system to dramatically accelerate content production and testing.
  • Fully manage campaign strategy, activation, optimization, and daily client communication.
  • Develop testing and optimization frameworks to drive efficiency, ROAS, and sustainable growth.
  • Incorporate new AI tools and software to enhance campaign performance and creative iteration.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with paid search, SEO, partnerships, retention, and product teams to maximize results, for example, by creating cross-functional strategies with Lifecycle.
  • Work directly with CEOs and senior stakeholders to translate business goals into high-performing paid social strategies.
  • Continuously optimize post-click experiences to improve funnel efficiency, conversion rates, and downstream revenue.
  • Crack emerging platforms such as TikTok, Pinterest, Snap, and LinkedIn, and explore new acquisition channels.
  • Codify all learnings into a "Paid Social Playbook" – a reusable, scalable asset for new company launches.
  • Report performance and insights to stakeholders, balancing short-term ROI with long-term scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to implement best-in-class tracking.
  • Continuously refine paid social systems to improve performance, speed, and reliability.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing campaigns in Meta Ads and TikTok Ads.
  • Proven ability to drive measurable business outcomes and profitability through paid media.
  • Track record of building large-scale influencer programs on paid platforms.
  • Experience using AI tools and automation in campaign management and creative workflows.
  • Deep understanding of paid social fundamentals: auction dynamics, auto-bidding, creative testing, and attribution.
  • Full-funnel knowledge with experience in MTA solutions, P&L management, and forecasting models.
  • Ability to build and manage scalable creative and testing systems across multiple brands.
  • Strong grasp of key growth metrics including ROAS, mLTV, and CAC.
  • Exposure to broader growth areas such as SEO, retention, and partnerships, with strong collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to tailor insights for executives and team members.
  • Nice to have: Familiarity or appetite for additional social platforms such as Pinterest, Snap, LinkedIn, or emerging channels.

Time Commitment

This is a full-time role requiring overlap with US ET for the majority of the workday. It demands dedication beyond standard hours, seeking someone willing to go above and beyond to achieve ambitious goals and make a significant impact.

Location

US-Based - Fully remote.

Compensation

Compensation packages are designed for long-term satisfaction, tailored to priorities, and can include base salary, equity in portfolio companies, and performance bonuses. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and an unlimited time off policy with a two-week minimum. The compensation range is $140K - $160K.
