Your Impact
As a Knowledge Analyst in McKinsey’s Digital & Tech Insights (DTi) team, based in Gurugram, India, you will help clients optimize IT product sourcing, including Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software, IT services, hardware, and cloud procurement.Collaborating with a global team, you will develop procurement strategies, talent partnerships, and technology solutions across industries, enabling clients to deliver innovative products and experiences.
Your expertise will streamline clients’ technology investments as strategic growth enablers, helping them design effective strategies, optimize costs, and unlock value from their IT ecosystems.
You will also contribute to McKinsey’s culture of learning and collaboration by conducting research, building knowledge assets, and mentoring junior colleagues. In this dynamic environment, you will drive impact through actionable insights, innovative solutions, and a commitment to continuous growth.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- An engineering degree or an MBA or master’s in technology
- 2+ years of experience in the IT products domain, with expertise in contracts review, licensing models, and optimizing terms and conditions
- Strong understanding of IT software procurement, including applications, infrastructure, cloud, and software license management
- Previous experience in negotiating IT software, services, and hardware contracts, either from the vendor or buyer side
- Proficiency in supplier selection, contracting, renewals, TCO optimization, RFx execution, and cloud procurement
- General understanding of the IT sourcing space, key vendors, and technology trends
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to create client-ready outputs such as PowerPoint decks and Excel models
- Professional attitude, intellectual curiosity, and ability to engage effectively with clients and procurement specialists
- Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to work in a demanding, result-oriented environment
