Instructional Designer ELA SLA
McGraw Hill is seeking an Instructional Designer with expertise in ELA/SLA to join their team. This role involves creating high-quality digital learning solutions for millions of students and educators worldwide. You will be a key member of a collaborative team, working closely with content, product management, UX, and creative media specialists to develop innovative digital tools and curriculum.
What you will be doing:
- Contribute to early product development workstreams, including Implementation Models, Journey Maps, and course maps.
- Design, storyboard, and develop digital curriculum assets such as videos, eBooks, interactives, simulations, games, and virtual labs using a UBD process.
- Participate in concept meetings, manuscript reviews, and alpha/beta builds for digital assets.
- Provide significant contributions to digital tools, user testing, and the product build process.
- Manage AD vendors and freelancers, including providing guidelines, answering questions, and leading status meetings.
- Lead approved workflows, meet schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements and goals are met.
- Assist in creating templates, trackers, and digital content development guidelines for digital launches with vendors.
- Identify and suggest digital solutions for development issues and collaborate to troubleshoot technical bugs and enhancements.
- Perform digital product tasks such as metadata tagging, concept mapping, and digital editing.
- Quality assurance of vendor work to ensure adherence to guidelines.
- Provide informal product training to associate instructional designers and ensure accessibility throughout the product development process.
We’re looking for someone with:
- 1-3 years of experience in digital content development, including teaching and learning materials.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Experience managing multiple projects within tight deliverables and budgets.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with authoring tools, learning management systems, and content management systems.
- Ability to create and visualize animated and interactive content.
- Bilingual (Spanish desired) and previous K-5 teaching experience are recommended.
