Position Summary

McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for an experienced Marketing Specialist, seasoned in proposal management, to join our Marketing Department. The ideal candidate is highly organized, strategic, has strong communication skills, works effectively in a deadline-driven environment, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage proposal and marketing-related submission efforts of varying levels of complexity to develop high-quality products, including client prequalifications, qualification packages, presentations, etc.
  • Develop compelling, non-technical written content for proposals, verifying consistency with the firm's branding and positioning.
  • Lead the creative design of proposals and verify they adhere to the McCormick Taylor brand principles.
  • Ensure high standards for document design, readability, and visual appeal, leveraging tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Collaborate with staff of all levels, as well as external teaming members, to gather information and develop persuasive content for proposal components.
  • Lead and manage the development of client capture plans, including coordinating and facilitating capture plan meetings with key stakeholders, creating detailed agendas, and setting clear goals.
  • Research current and prospective clients, upcoming leads, industry trends, and competitors.
  • Input data for potential and current proposals in the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, making sure the firm’s historical and current data are complete.
  • Develop/maintain/update marketing collateral, including content, project descriptions, and resumes.
  • Lead project/contract-specific strategy meetings to position the firm for upcoming Requests for Proposals (RFP), develop and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, assign action items, follow up with staff regarding action items, conduct competitor analysis, help prepare win themes, and plan client meet-and-greets/meetings prior to the advertisement.
  • Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a commitment to a quality product.
  • Attend and represent the firm at industry events (conferences, pre-proposal meetings, networking functions) relevant to your region/business sector.
  • Monitor procurement sites for potential project opportunities.
  • Assist with other marketing initiatives, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a corporate environment, with a minimum of 4 years in the AEC industry.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly, InDesign and Acrobat).
  • Proven experience in managing complex proposals, particularly for large-scale or high-profile clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a helpful and approachable attitude.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail and leadership presence.
  • Ability to mentor and provide feedback to staff.
  • Ability to think outside the box to develop and implement creative ideas and solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to client sites, conferences, and events, as needed.
  • Available to work occasional nights and weekends to meet deadlines and/or attend industry events.
  • Prior experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is a plus.
  • Prior experience with PennDOT proposals is a plus.
