Software Development Engineer in Test SDET

Role Overview

As our products and AI-driven features continue to expand, McAfee is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test SDET to help scale QA through AI and automation. You will modernize our QA ecosystem by applying AI tools to enhance functional and performance testing, optimize test coverage, and accelerate automation with greater accuracy. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, PM, and DevOps teams to ensure the quality of our Services.

This is a Hybrid position based in Bangalore. You must be within a commutable distance from the location. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis; when not working onsite, you will work remotely from your home location.

About The Role

You will scale QA operations by leveraging AI‑driven tools and automation frameworks. You will use AI technologies to expand test coverage and accelerate automation across teams and locations. You will develop and maintain automated test suites for both web and backend systems while executing and reporting comprehensive test plans. You will enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve automation speed and overall test coverage analysis. You will analyze repository and commit‑level changes to help QA teams prioritize testing efficiently and effectively. You should champion best practices in testing, automation, and AI integration while conducting performance testing with tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar platforms.

About You

You should have 6 to 8 years hands-on experience in QA automation tools like Selenium, CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, and issue‑tracking platforms like Jira. A strong understanding or experience in AI‑assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or Cody is also required. You should be proficient in Git, browser development tools, and writing or managing test scripts using Postman’s JavaScript‑based scripting capabilities. You should demonstrate the ability to integrate AI into QA workflows for test generation, coverage analysis, and automation acceleration, supported by basic scripting knowledge in JavaScript or Python. You should understand security testing principles such as OAuth and token validation and have exposure to database testing using SQL. You should be able to guide and mentor engineers on using AI tools within QA and development processes while showing strong ownership, multitasking skills, and effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams like PM, DevOps, and Engineering. You should be capable of designing, scoping, and managing large‑scale test strategies while leveraging GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to accelerate test design, automate testing tasks, and analyze defects efficiently.
