Your Work Environment

As part of strengthening our internal capabilities in infrastructure administration and advanced database management, MBDA is looking for an experienced System Administrator with strong DBA expertise. You will join the Infrastructure and Services team, at the core of the IT System's operational functioning. Your role is essential: to guarantee the availability, security, performance, and evolution of the group's server environments and critical databases.

Your Daily Tasks

Infrastructure Management & Maintenance:

• Supervise servers, storage systems, and hosted applications.
• Guarantee the availability, service continuity, and performance of entrusted environments.
• Perform updates, patches, and version upgrades, adhering to security rules (backups, prerequisites, SSI compliance).
• Support internal teams for specific technical needs (SQL queries, optimizations, diagnostics).

Advanced Technical Support (N2/N3):

• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve complex system and database incidents.
• Intervene remotely or on-site depending on criticality.
• Systematically document interventions to capitalize on best practices.
• Contribute to the improvement of incident management processes.

Solution Development & Implementation:

• Participate in the design of new architectures or optimizations.
• Contribute to infrastructure evolution (automation, hardening, industrialization).
• Propose innovative solutions to improve performance and security.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with network, security, application, and project teams.
• Understand internal needs and provide reliable technical support.
• Participate in meetings, technical workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Propose and lead technical sessions/best practice workshops.

Contribution to Infrastructure Projects:

• Participate in the planning, execution, and documentation of technical projects.
• Contribute to meeting deadlines, internal standards, and security requirements.
• Prepare environments, manage tests, and ensure rigorous follow-up.

Database Administration & Optimization:

• Administer and maintain relational databases: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle…
• Monitor performance, optimize queries and configuration.
• Ensure backups, restores, and business continuity tests.
• Manage capacity, availability, security, and SSI compliance of databases.
• Handle advanced issues: replication, redundancy, clustering, tuning.
• Prevent incidents through a proactive approach.

Your Profile

Technical Skills:

• Advanced administration of Windows Server & Linux.
• Good command of network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing).
• Confirmed experience with virtualized environments: VMware, Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of storage solutions (NetApp or equivalents).
• Proficiency in supervision and incident management tools.
• Solid experience in database administration: SQL, tuning, scripting, diagnostics, automation.
• Ability to analyze complex architectures and propose improvements.

Transversal Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Aptitude for collaboration in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Rigor, organizational skills, autonomy.

Training & Experience:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience in a demanding or critical environment highly appreciated (defense, industry, energy, transport…).
• English: essential (written and spoken).
