Job Description

About MBDA: Our Mission and Values

At MBDA, our mission is to contribute to the sovereignty of nations and preserve security and freedom in Europe. Collaboration and trust are essential to achieve this. MBDA faces unique challenges in meeting the needs of armed forces against new threats. Driven by technological challenges, we push the boundaries of innovation, science, and technology to develop cutting-edge solutions. We encourage self-improvement in a unique environment offering opportunities for everyone. Together, we are proud of the role we play.

Your Work Environment

Within the Technical Directorate, reporting to the Radiofrequency (RF) Sensors department, you will be responsible for leading and developing the data link service. This service, comprising about ten employees, brings together complementary expertise: system architectures, equipment product ownership, and performance studies, at the core of the design and development of data link systems for our missiles. Interfacing with numerous stakeholders, you will work in a multidisciplinary environment, in close collaboration with project teams, engineering entities, and leading external partners (European industries, government organizations, and research centers). You will directly contribute to strategic and structuring subjects, in line with current and future challenges of embedded communication systems.

Your Daily Responsibilities

  • Guarantee the service's commitments (workload/resources, costs, deadlines, performance) in line with project needs.
  • Supervise the activities of system architects and equipment managers, ensuring technical consistency and adherence to milestones.
  • Lead the service's technical dynamics, validating work performed and structuring decision-making processes.
  • Develop synergies between programs and ensure proper consideration of data link challenges within projects and integration activities.
  • Contribute to the development of skills and the maturity of the profession by defining technical roadmaps and identifying innovation areas.
  • Initiate and manage technical partnerships with external stakeholders (ONERA, CEA Tech, etc.), and contribute to the preparation of future solutions in collaboration with anticipation teams.
  • Provide close management of your team: support career development, skill enhancement, resource management, and recruitment participation.

You will play a key role in structuring the profession, project performance, and preparing future capabilities.

Key Offer Highlights

  • A role with significant strategic and managerial impact.
  • An expert team at the heart of defense system communication challenges.
  • A multidisciplinary and international environment.
  • The opportunity to contribute to major technological innovations.

Your Profile

With a Master's degree (engineering school or equivalent), you have significant experience (10+ years) in demanding technical environments, developing a dual competence in technical leadership and team coordination. You possess solid knowledge in telecommunications, signal processing, and electronics, with a good understanding of system challenges. Prior management experience is appreciated, but most importantly, you are recognized for your ability to unite, structure, and develop a team in a demanding and highly interactive environment. With excellent interpersonal skills, you can convince, arbitrate, and champion high-visibility technical subjects. Your analytical and synthesis skills enable you to make informed decisions in complex contexts. A good level of English is required.
