Litigation Paralegal

Responsibilities
This role provides essential support to attorneys in the Litigation practice. Key responsibilities include:
- Proofreading, editing, and citation checking legal documents.
- Utilizing litigation research tools such as Westlaw, Lexis, and Pacer.
- Coordinating data collection with case teams and e-Discovery personnel.
- Managing complex files, including relevance, confidentiality, and privilege reviews of discovery materials.
- Creating discovery templates and preparing for depositions.
- Analyzing and summarizing documents and other factual information, including technical details.
- Conducting factual research on parties, experts, and judges, and performing due diligence.
- Researching court rules and ensuring compliance with filing procedures and deadlines.
- Liaising with Document Services for formatting and printing of briefs according to jurisdictional guidelines.
- Preparing key fact chronologies and creating demonstrative exhibits like charts and graphs.
- Providing on-site support during trials, including evidence monitoring, witness assurance, visual aid preparation, note-taking, exhibit tracking, transcript digestion, and interaction with various stakeholders.
- Assisting with appeals by compiling records, indexing cases, and liaising with printers.
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
Education/Training/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of six years of substantive litigation experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm setting is required.
- Trial, arbitration, or mediation experience is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
- Knowledge of Relativity and general database management.
- Working knowledge of legal case management software such as OPUS 2 preferred.
