Mayer Brown is an international law firm representing major corporations, funds, and financial institutions worldwide. With a culture of collaboration and inclusion, the firm is seeking an Assistant: Legal Support to join the Legal Practice Support Team in its London office.

Role Purpose

The role provides full legal practice support for Counsel, Associates, PSLs, and Trainees. It involves diary management, meeting organization, document preparation, and overall administrative support ensuring excellence and prompt service.

Responsibilities

  • Technical: Manage diaries, appointments, meeting room bookings, travel arrangements, presentation materials, accurate billing, and document proofreading.
  • Personal Management: File management, archiving, courier coordination, and maintaining updated distribution lists.
  • Client Focus: Handle client queries professionally and assist internal stakeholders with administrative tasks.
  • Communication: Liaise with clients and callers, take messages, and resolve queries with discretion.
  • Teamwork: Provide backup support to ensure smooth office operations.
  • Results Driven: Assist fee-earners with internal processes and ensure timely file management.

Qualifications & Experience

Educated to GCSE or equivalent with A Levels preferred, minimum RSA II typing, and a legal practice assistant qualification advantageous. Experience in a legal corporate environment is desirable, along with strong technical proficiency in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and InterAction. A typing speed of 60 wpm or above is required.

Work Environment

Standard hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm with flexibility to meet business needs. The position is primarily office-based in London with a hybrid work arrangement that allows two days of working from home, subject to coordination with the team leader.
