Senior Back End Developer
Maximus is seeking a Senior Back End Developer to join their Technology and Consulting Services team. This role is contingent upon contract award and position availability, offering a remote work arrangement and requiring a Secret clearance. If selected, candidates will receive a contingent offer of employment, which becomes final upon successful contract award, position availability, and authorization to proceed.
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides subject matter expertise for assigned tasks, focusing on analytical skills to support process improvement and specialized studies.
- Responsible for defining requirements, analyzing systems, planning development, building functional models, and developing procedures and functional architecture.
- Performs engineering tasks for back-end design and development, including developing back-end architectures for system capabilities and integrations.
- Develops and modifies RESTful APIs, manages databases, and optimizes data models.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance or above required; Active TS/SCI highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
- 10 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages, with DevSecOps, microservices, and container tool suites.
- 5 years of experience in back-end web design and development.
- 10 years of experience in relational databases and RESTful API development and integration.
- 5 years of experience in Python and PostgreSQL.
- 5 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira).
- 5 years of experience testing web-based applications.
- 5 years of experience leading software development programs or projects.
- 3 years of experience with AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Red Hat Linux.
- 5 years of experience with at least five (5) of the following: PostgreSQL RDS, Exodus, Python, Luna, Java, Docker, OpenJDK, Ansible, Packer, Maven, Kubernetes, Red Hat.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing, conducting, and documenting systems tests to verify operability and compliance.
- Practical experience developing in a cloud environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments.
- 5 years of experience with DoW software development.
- Experience using Agile Test-Driven development.
- Experience integrating into DoW DevSecOps environments.
