Overview

Maximus is seeking a PART TIME Senior IBM COBOL Developer to support our IRS client in a remote setting. Employment requires successful completion of an IRS Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess data needs and design requirements for system changes.
  • Develop and execute testing and migration plans.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze programming issues.
  • Create and update IBM COBOL programs and documentation.
  • Guide and train team members when necessary.

Job-Specific Responsibilities

  • Create, update, test, and maintain IBM COBOL code.
  • Update documentation including FSPs, PRPs and diagrams.
  • Track requirements, execute unit tests, and review code.
  • Revise, repair or expand existing programs.
  • Assist in developing testing environments and documentation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum four years of IBM COBOL programming and experience with DB2 and CICS.
  • Knowledge of federal information security policies.
  • Must be a US Citizen or legal Permanent Resident for at least three years.
