The Role: Enterprise Systems Architect
Maven Clinic is seeking an experienced Enterprise Systems Architect to design and evolve the internal technology landscape that supports our rapidly scaling, distributed organization. This highly technical, hands-on role is centered on deep systems expertise, architectural rigor, and driving standardization across Maven’s internal platforms.
You will serve as the technical authority responsible for architecting secure, scalable, and well-integrated enterprise systems. This includes critical areas such as identity and access management, device and endpoint ecosystems, collaboration platforms, IT service management, and core business applications.
Collaborating closely with Enterprise Technology, Engineering, Security, Data, People, and Finance teams, you will translate complex business needs into clean, maintainable architectures. Your efforts will significantly improve operational efficiency, strengthen our security posture, and deliver a seamless employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture for Maven’s enterprise systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and strong security fundamentals across all platforms.
- Partner with Security to design and maintain robust IAM, device compliance, and access governance architectures.
- Develop technical standards, reference architectures, and design patterns for internal tools and integrations.
- Evaluate new enterprise technologies, conduct technical assessments, and recommend solutions aligned with long-term goals.
- Architect and oversee integrations between SaaS applications, internal systems, and data platforms, ensuring reliability and data integrity.
- Collaborate with Product, IT, and Engineering teams to define technical requirements and validate solution designs.
- Lead deep-dive analyses to identify root causes of system inefficiencies and propose scalable solutions.
- Implement automation frameworks for provisioning, configuration management, and endpoint operations.
- Maintain architectural documentation including system diagrams, data flow models, and API specifications.
- Support incident response and troubleshooting as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Manage project lifecycles from discovery to implementation, ensuring deliverables are met.
What We're Looking For
- 8–10+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering, architecture, or infrastructure roles, ideally within SaaS or high-growth environments.
- Expertise across IAM, MDM/endpoint management, SaaS ecosystems, collaboration tools, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as Okta (IAM), Salesforce (CRM), Netsuite (Finance), ADP/Greenhouse (HR), Zendesk (service support), and Atlassian (management/collaboration).
- Strong architecture fundamentals: system design, data flows, API integrations, and security controls.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions in cloud-native environments.
- Proficiency with modern automation technologies and scripting (e.g., Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash, workflow automation platforms).
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, HIPAA, HITRUST).
- Excellent communication skills, translating complex technical concepts effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to drive architectural decisions and influence stakeholders across teams.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000 per year, complemented by equity and comprehensive benefits. Individual compensation is based on qualifications, experience, and skillset. This role requires active US work authorization.
Maven embraces a flexible hybrid work model, with teams primarily operating from the New York Metropolitan area, NY, San Francisco/Bay Area, CA, Seattle, WA, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C. For New York City, in-person collaboration is encouraged three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). For other specified locations, quarterly Work Together Days are encouraged.
Our benefits are designed to support your health, well-being, and career development. Key benefits include employer-covered health, dental, and insurance; Maven for Mavens platform access; whole-self care partnerships; 16 weeks 100% paid parental leave; an annual professional development stipend with a career coach; and 401K matching with immediate vesting for US-based full-time employees.
