About the Role

The Senior Data Governance Architect at Mattress Firm plays a critical role in shaping the enterprise data strategy. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive data governance framework that ensures data is treated as a strategic asset across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage solutions
  • Partner with IT, Legal, and Business teams to align governance with business goals
  • Facilitate Data Governance Committee reviews and manage the DSAR process
  • Integrate data governance tools such as Collibra, Alation, and Informatica Axon
  • Drive data quality, protection standards and ensure compliance with CCPA/GDPR

Non-Essential & Additional Responsibilities

Support company initiatives, contribute ideas for improvement, and complete required training modules.

Educational & Professional Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required (advanced degree preferred) with 7+ years of experience in data governance and data quality implementation, preferably in retail.

Skills and Certifications

  • Expertise in data governance, data modeling, and database technologies
  • Proficiency in governance platforms like Collibra, Alation, and Informatica
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
  • Consulting, change management, and teamwork skills
  • Preferred certifications: CDMP, DGSP, or IGP
