Role Overview: Technical Account Manager

As a Technical Account Manager at Mattermost, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise and public sector customers. Your role involves ensuring successful deployment, integration, and secure operation of the Mattermost platform in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Success & Secure Solution Delivery: Lead technical onboarding, configuration, and production deployment for strategic customers; design and implement secure, scalable architectures; ensure compliance with frameworks such as FedRAMP, ITSG-33, NIST 800-53, and ISO 27001; guide integration with SSO, DevOps pipelines, and monitoring systems; provide proactive technical guidance.
  • Technical Leadership & Advocacy: Act as the primary technical contact, collaborate across Product, Engineering, and Support teams, resolve complex issues, and share reusable assets to accelerate secure deployments.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Present complex technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders and build trusted, long-term relationships.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Account Management or equivalent.
  • Deep technical knowledge in Linux system administration, networking, containers, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on scripting or development experience (Python, Go, Node.js, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity and secure system design.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps and relevant tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, Terraform, etc.).
  • Ability to manage large enterprise accounts with clear communication skills.
  • For U.S. candidates: eligibility for U.S. government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with public sector, defense, or regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks.
  • Experience with compliance standards such as FedRAMP, NIST, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
  • Open-source contributions or familiarity with secure collaboration tools.
  • Proficiency in Golang, React, or mobile/MDM environments.
  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced SaaS environment.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

This is a remote-first position with competitive market-based pay. The starting salary range is $130,000 - $150,000 USD, adjusted based on skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
