About the Role
Be on the cutting edge of classroom technology. MasteryPrep is seeking a UX Writer - Contractor to craft clear, accessible microcopy that empowers administrators, teachers, and students. With 10 hours per week, your writing will support product documentation, create contextual help, and contribute to a consistent voice and tone for our software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and maintain microcopy and product documentation.
- Review UX deliverables and suggest improvements.
- Develop a voice and tone guide for consistent user communication.
- Standardize system nomenclature and messaging templates.
- Support Product Designers in reducing friction for new users.
- Contribute to customer research projects and persona development.
Content You Will Produce
- Contextual help (tooltips, instructions, alerts, modals, etc.)
- Onboarding material
- System recommendations
- Surveys
- Emails
- Support Articles
- About Us content
Qualifications
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant experience
- High attention to detail with strong verbal and written communication
- Comfortable with wireframes, functional specs, and Figma
- North American English fluency
- Experience in ed-tech and software is preferred
- General availability during 9:00a - 5:00p Central Time (CT)
- Deep belief in the potential of all students
- Respect for diverse experiences
