About the Role

Be on the cutting edge of classroom technology. MasteryPrep is seeking a UX Writer - Contractor to craft clear, accessible microcopy that empowers administrators, teachers, and students. With 10 hours per week, your writing will support product documentation, create contextual help, and contribute to a consistent voice and tone for our software products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and maintain microcopy and product documentation.
  • Review UX deliverables and suggest improvements.
  • Develop a voice and tone guide for consistent user communication.
  • Standardize system nomenclature and messaging templates.
  • Support Product Designers in reducing friction for new users.
  • Contribute to customer research projects and persona development.

  • Contextual help (tooltips, instructions, alerts, modals, etc.)
  • Onboarding material
  • System recommendations
  • Surveys
  • Emails
  • Support Articles
  • About Us content

Qualifications

  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant experience
  • High attention to detail with strong verbal and written communication
  • Comfortable with wireframes, functional specs, and Figma
  • North American English fluency
  • Experience in ed-tech and software is preferred
  • General availability during 9:00a - 5:00p Central Time (CT)
  • Deep belief in the potential of all students
  • Respect for diverse experiences
