Overview
The Senior Counsel role at Mastercard supports legal compliance in privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity. Reporting to the Senior Managing Counsel, the role is part of the Global Privacy & Data Protection team. This position involves a blend of strategic and tactical responsibilities, focused on ensuring that Mastercard's Identity solutions adhere to both existing and emerging privacy, cyber, and data-related laws.
Role
- Analyze Identity solutions for privacy and data protection requirements.
- Provide day-to-day legal support and conduct law assessments.
- Increase awareness of privacy and cybersecurity through training initiatives.
- Monitor legislative developments relevant to fraud and identity verification.
- Develop and negotiate contracts addressing privacy and data protection requirements.
All About You
Candidates must hold a law degree and be a member of a Bar. Additional qualifications such as an LL.M. are considered an asset. Solid expertise in privacy law, global data protection frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and related Payments counseling experience will be valued. The candidate should exhibit strong time management, analytical, writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships and drive organizational goals.
