Role Overview: Senior AI Engineer

At Mastercard, we are building the next generation of AI-powered platforms to drive innovation, efficiency, and impact. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will work hands-on with cutting-edge AI tools, large language models (LLMs), and emerging frameworks, collaborating with senior engineers, data scientists, and product teams to create real-world AI applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Agentic AI Development: Build and enhance AI agents and backend systems.
• Experimentation & Evaluation: Test and evaluate new LLMs and emerging AI technologies.
• Prompt Engineering: Design and optimize prompts for desired outputs.
• Guardrail Development: Implement safeguards for ethical and secure AI responses.
• Backend Engineering: Develop APIs, microservices, and data integrations.
• Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated with AI and software engineering best practices.

About You

You have robust hands-on experience with AI/ML, a passion for LLMs and generative AI, and expertise in Python along with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Node.js. You understand REST APIs, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and display strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You value collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
