Role Summary: Risk Management Analyst, Data Scientist
The Americas Strategy and Operation team at Mastercard is seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and analytical individual with an entrepreneurial mindset for the role of Risk Management Analyst, Data Scientist. This dual-focused position is critical for driving customer experience strategy through continuous innovation and problem-solving, combining robust risk management practices with advanced data science capabilities.
Key Responsibilities: Risk Management
- Maintain cross-functional initiatives to track risk causes, impact, mitigation strategies, and action plans for existing and potential regional risks.
- Participate actively in the risk management process, including documenting, reviewing, and regularly updating systems.
- Support special projects as requested and provide ad-hoc assistance to senior management.
- Perform, update, and maintain existing access and reports from the customer risk management system.
Key Responsibilities: Data Scientist
- Create high-performance analytic solutions utilizing datasets measured in billions of transactions.
- Develop front-end visualizations to unlock the value of big data, supporting analytics and reporting across products, markets, and services.
- Develop and maintain advanced reporting and data visualization capabilities on large volumes of data.
- Design data-driven analytical solutions and identify quantitative opportunities to support business needs and facilitate informed decisions.
- Execute jobs in big data clusters using various execution engines and programming languages such as Hive/Impala, Python, and Spark.
- Provide insightful conclusions and assessments, presenting findings via Tableau/PowerBI dashboards, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Possesses years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, or Audit.
- Has extensive experience in data management, data mining, data analytics, and data reporting.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, operating with a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Has experience in Project Management and Risk Mitigation.
- Is proficient with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Domo, PowerBI, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Is experienced with Hadoop environments, Python, Spark, and advanced SQL coding.
- Exhibits excellent organizational and documentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience within a Financial Institution or the Payments industry is a significant plus.
- Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics, Business, Risk Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
Work Arrangement
This role adheres to a hybrid work policy, requiring an average of 3 or more days per week working in an assigned Mastercard office.
