About the role
About the Role
As a Lead Technical Program Manager in Mastercard Software Builders Experience, you will be working with Mastercard’s Engineering team for automated provisioning. These teams are responsible for developing best-of-breed capabilities to enable infrastructure requests across Mastercard and to automate infrastructure provisioning according to best practices.
Role Responsibilities
In this Lead Technical Program Manager role, you will conceptualize, rationalize, and drive multiple, simultaneous workstreams to deliver engineering work across the portfolio in our Scrum execution model. You may drive the execution of a feature through the full stack or may drive a project which spans multiple teams and integrations, reporting meaningful status along the way.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Collaborate closely with Engineering Directors, Principals, and VPs, as well as Product Managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle (build, test, and release on time).
- Manage complex, technical, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish.
- Partner with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
- Take ownership of release schedules and milestones, maintaining high velocity in a fast-paced environment.
- Present Release Demos in collaboration with Engineering Teams & Product Owners.
- Champion both "Building the Right Product" and "Building the Product Right."
- Prepare for Program Increment Planning (PI), validating and confirming scope of work completed in prior iterations/PIs against the scope for upcoming PIs.
- Track delivery progress at the product engineering team level, maintaining visibility on program scope delivery in ALM.
- Capture, assess, and track engineering team capacity.
- Lead iteration planning, facilitating feature and story sizing, and serving as a subject-matter expert to align the team on Agile/Scrum practices.
- Facilitate retrospectives, gathering input and driving team collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and manage cross-team dependencies with internal Mastercard Software Builders Experience (MSBX) teams, external Mastercard teams, stakeholders, and Engineering leadership.
- Proactively track and mitigate risks and issues to resolution.
- Produce Bi-weekly status reports, encompassing both strategic initiatives and Business As Usual (BAU) scope of work.
Qualifications
- Over 7 years of experience managing multi-stakeholder programs in a global organization or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy.
- Proven experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering technical programs in agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
- Strong track record of data-driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively to executives, peers, and staff with impact and authenticity.
- Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with, and influencing dependent teams while earning respect across the organization.
- Experience or knowledge with Jenkins, Bitbucket, Sonar, Artifactory, and/or common CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in Cloud Platform and Functionalities is a significant advantage.
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related discipline.
