Overview

The Data Sources team in the Data Strategy & Management organization (AI and Data Office) is responsible for managing, acquiring, ingesting and evaluating enterprise data utilized across Mastercard product teams. The Director Data Sourcing will lead the global strategy for acquiring and integrating partner and third-party data while driving development of data products and services.

Director, Data Acquisition

Data Acquisition Strategy
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data acquisition strategy.
  • Collaborate with Data Strategy leads and business SMEs to gather high-quality external data.
  • Establish third-party data quality standards in partnership with data quality teams.
  • Provide thought leadership on pricing, vendor evaluation, and data rights.
  • Support product development and data commercialization with market insights.
  • Contribute to modernizing the third-party data ecosystem with advanced analytics and governance.
  • Design educational materials and training on data tools and processes as needed.
Data Acquisition Execution
  • Assess, acquire, and ingest relevant third-party data for both cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Work with technical teams to develop data pipelines for revenue-generating products.
  • Manage project timelines, data quality, and commercialization outcomes.
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies with compliance to privacy regulations.
  • Create dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators.
  • Communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders and organize requirement workshops.

All About You

You have 5-10 years of experience in data acquisition, commercialization or a related field. You possess advanced experience with data products, strategic market expansion, and have a strong understanding of data ecosystems, governance, and analytics. Demonstrated capabilities in data contract negotiations, effective communication, relationship building, and program management are essential. Preferred technical skills include proficiency in Python, SQL, cloud-based data storage, ETL techniques, and exposure to emerging technologies such as AI and data marketplaces.
