Overview
The Director, Accounting is responsible for managing the financial reporting process, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing accurate and timely financial information for stakeholders. You will oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, manage SEC reporting, provide technical accounting support, and lead both business units and regional accounting teams.
Role and Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements according to GAAP, and prepare GAAP and Non-GAAP supporting schedules for earnings releases and SEC filings.
- Financial Analysis: Provide detailed analysis, prepare presentations for quarterly earnings, and analyze complex accounting issues.
- Liaison with Shared Services: Act as primary liaison with groups such as Accounting Services and Financial Systems to ensure alignment and resolve discrepancies.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop internal control policies, ensure SOX compliance, and coordinate with audits.
- Technical Accounting: Manage benefit and equity accounting processes, oversee stock compensation, EPS, and related actuarial reports.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the financial reporting team.
- Special Projects: Participate in or lead special projects including system implementations and process improvements.
All About You
Required qualifications include a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, CPA, a thorough knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations and SOX compliance, and extensive experience in management reporting and financial analysis. Prior experience at a Big 4 accounting firm and in a public company environment is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proficiency in financial reporting software and advanced Excel skills.

Pay Ranges
Location: Purchase, New York. Base salary range is $147,000 - $228,000 USD.
