Title And Summary
The role of Consultant, Performance Analytics - Fraud & Payments Senior Analyst involves advising clients on fraud prevention and payment strategies. This role is part of the Advisors & Consulting Services team at Mastercard.
Roles and Responsibilities
Client Impact:
- Provide creative input across various industries and problem statements.
- Develop analytics strategies to unlock client value using data and technology.
- Collaborate with Mastercard teams to understand client agendas and risks.
- Support data-driven insights on fraud prevention and case management.
- Advise on authentication strategies balancing fraud risk and customer experience.
Team Collaboration & Culture:
- Work with senior consultants to prepare presentations and recommendations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate fraud challenges into actionable insights.
- Identify trends and anomalies to support key findings.
- Lead meetings and contribute to project management.
- Build skills in narrative-building and storytelling for non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years experience in fraud strategy/analytics, risk management, or payment systems.
- Experience with coding software (Python, R, SQL, SAS) to derive insights.
- Undergraduate degree in STEM, data analytics or similar field.
- Proven ability to manage clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in English and eligibility to work in Australia long-term.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Familiarity with Hadoop framework and coding using Impala, Hive, or PySpark.
- Knowledge of emerging fraud threats and chargebacks/disputes management.
- Understanding of digital wallet, payment authentication, and e-commerce practices.
- Awareness of risks in emerging payment methods including BNPL and crypto.
Corporate Security Responsibility
Adhere to Mastercard’s security policies, ensure confidentiality and integrity of information, and report any breaches while completing mandatory security training.
